This class is an in-depth look at our accountability and the knowledge needed as real estate professionals to avoid issues in Antitrust violations, Intellectual Property infringements, and trademark and copyright violations. Antitrust is more broad sweeping than most practitioners realize, it affects our contracts, our day-to-day activities, our interactions with other real estate agents as well as other professionals in general. Antitrust violations are civil or criminal offenses and do not just involve conversations about commissions. Practitioners will be provided information to be more aware of how broad sweeping antitrust violations impact their businesses. Criminal offenses could result in triple damages: jail time, government monitoring of your business for years, or all of the aforementioned. I (Rochelle) am personally aware of one Antitrust lawsuit currently happening in the state of Montana. There are others.
Education is vital in knowing how to protect your business, your clients, and others. Intellectual property and copyright and trademark violations happen daily. I will show the class how more than 95%-100% are currently committing a trademark violation. (Unless they've taken my class!)
My class provides information about risk, how to reform your business practices to help know more and to be able to facilitate better protections for the practitioner's real estate businesses. From meta-tagging to web-scraping, intellectual property is a major component in our business. These violations are easy to detect, and easy for a practitioner to be fined accordingly.
